EXPLORE IQUITOS WITH
CEO of ikitos.com SCROLL DOWN FOR
INFORMATION ABOUT CITY AND JUNGLE TOURS
Hi! My name is Gart van
Gennip In 2006, I came to Iquitos as an English
teacher. I planned to stay for a year and then move on. But as you can see; I
am still here! I now teach English privately, as well as parttime at the
University. Iquitos is a great place to live, as well
as to visit. Apart from teaching, I have learned a lot about the city, its history
and culture, and about the rainforest that surrounds us. Since my arrival here, I have travelled
extensively throughout the region. During the first half of 2009, I worked as
the manager of the Amazon Explorers Club, a project of Dawn on the Amazon, a
well-known and respected tours and cruises company in Iquitos. As a tour
guide, I went on several 5-day excursions into the jungle, as well as on
countless daytrips to destinations in and near the city. I know the city and its people very well.
I can assist you with your travel bookings, finding a decent hotel room at
very low rates, advise you about the most reliable and trustworthy tourism
agencies and I can take you on a variety of daytrips. “Mr
Gart’s services are absolutely free of charge!” That is a stubborn myth that just
won’t go away! I don’t know what to do about it! Obviously I need
to pay the bills as well, but I promise you; if you hire me, you will save
money in the end. I will get you the best deals on hotels
and hospedajes, daytrips and jungle tours. There is NO surcharge; the
businesses here pay me a commission. My own rates as city and tour guide are
very reasonable; just 60 soles (15 euros / 20 US dollars) per day.
Rates for daytrips vary, depending on the destination. Obviously, a walking
tour of Belén will not cost the same as a boat trip to Monkey Island.
Still, I am sure you will be relieved to see the rates for those trips. I speak five languages; English, Spanish,
Dutch, French and German. I am a busy person. If I am not available
myself, I have some good friends who speak excellent English (former
students! You guessed it!) who are available as your city and tour guide. So; drop me a line, or give me a call! I
am sure we can work something out and I promise you; you won’t be
disappointed. Take a closer look at the tourism
pages of ikitos.com, and find out more about Iquitos, its history,
myths and legends, culture, about the daytrips and the jungle. please contact:
