Fundo Pedrito,
the caiman farm, is located in Barrio Florido, a
pretty, small village on the Amazon River. Leaving from Bellavista
Nanay, it will take approximately 30 minutes to
get there. The village itself is very nice, its people are friendly and
there is much to see, do and buy.

When you arrive, leaving the
boat, you go to your left. There is no traffic in Barrio Florido;
just a walking path. After 5 minutes, you will reach Fundo Pedrito, the Caiman Farm. It is a beautiful place,
where you can see a number of caiman and other animals. There is also a
pond with a gazebo, with paiche, a huge
fresh-water fish, and the giant water lily pads of the Victoria Regia. Entry is just 5 soles per person.

After visiting Fundo Pedrito, take you time
strolling around town and taking in the peaceful atmosphere of this typical
river community. You can find a large maloca
right on the waterfront, where you can enjoy the view of the river, some
excellent local foods and drinks, and get an impression of what local life
is like.
Feel free to walk around town on the concrete walking paths, most of
which have recently been built. It’s impossible to get lost;
it’s a small town. But it will take you across some of the typical
roofed walking bridges, along the friendly, open houses and their yards,
with countless fruit trees and medicinal plants, chickens, goats and pigs.
