At a half hour ride per mototaxi, on the carretera to Nauta, you will find
Quistococha, the most popular daytrip destination for locals and tourists
alike. A taxi ride shouldn’t cost more than eight soles. Beware of
the gringo tax!

Quistococha is a beautiful lake with a wonderful white-sand beach. The water is
clean and swimming is safe. You can rent a boat, take a walk on one of the
boardwalks, or hang out under one of the malocas, with
their typical roofs made of leaves.

The entrance fee is only three soles, but the food and drinks inside
are relatively expensive. You may want to consider bringing your own food,
or trying out one of the eateries outside the gate.
There is football and volleyball, plenty of great food and music,
two terraces, a vast natural park, a botanical garden, and last but not
least; a zoo with many local
animals, from the famous river
dolphin to sloths, parrots, a variety of monkeys, jaguars, tapirs,
anacondas and many more. You can even spot some monkeys in the wild!
